RISE Aquatic Club Coaching Staff
Over 100 years of combined coaching experience! The RISE Coaching staff is more of a family than a staff. They create a fun, passionate, family atmosphere for the swimmers to thrive and learn a love for the sport. Their swimmers know that the coaches are there for them and want to see them succeed and overcome hurdles.
Adam Cremieux
Head Coach & Executive Director
At Northern Iowa Adam trained under strength Coach Jim Kramer, voted as one of the best NCAA strength trainers in the nation. Jim later became the head of the US National Weightlifting team at the US Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. Adam then transferred and swam two years as an NCAA Division I full scholarship swimmer for the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Junior year the team captured the Horizon League Conference Championship. Adam held team records in the 50-yard Freestyle, the 200-yard Freestyle Relay and the 200-yard Medley Relay. In his senior year, he was honored with the Leadership Award by a vote of his teammates. Adam has been coaching swimming for over 25 years and has coached numerous state champions, junior national qualifiers and multiple Olympic trial qualifiers in that period. In 2015, Adam became the first coach in Illinois history to build and own an aquatic training center - Superior Training, which is located in Willowbrook.
Adam attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School where he was a three-sport athlete. He swam on Stagg's varsity swimming team for four years; three-year state qualifier; All State senior year; school record holder in the 50-yard freestyle. Adam was a two-year NCAA Division I swimmer for the University of Northern Iowa. During his freshmen year the team was the Midwest Classic Champions and Adam became the first sophomore in team history to be voted captain. |
Kirby Igoe
Head Age Group Coach
Coach Kirby has been involved in the sport of swimming most of his life. His swimming career began at the age of seven. He swam for several teams in the Chicagoland area, including Westmont Swim Club. Now in his early 30’s, Kirby’s passion for the sport has grown.
As a USA Swimming Age Group Coach, Kirby has worked with a broad array of athletes. He has spent years coaching senior and elite level swimmers, but for the last five years he has focused on and has had great success with those 12 and under. Kirby believes that stroke technique and skill development is PARAMOUNT for a long, successful, and injury free swimming career. With this strong foundation, Kirby has watched his athletes have success and stay in the sport through high school and beyond. Matt Harder
Assistant Coach
Coach Matt began swimming competitively when he was 8 years old with the Riverside Brookfield Otters. He then went on to swim for the Academy Bullets Swim Club, where he was a state qualifier in the 1000 and 1650 Freestyle events and was part of two consecutive team state titles. Matt also swam for Riverside Brookfield High School and served as their team captain his senior year. Coach Matt graduated with a teaching degree from Concordia University Chicago.
Prior to joining the RISE staff, Matt was the Lead Coach at LYONS Aquatics for their high-performance 11&12 athletes and also led one of their Senior programs. Before that, Matt was both a Senior and Age Group Coach with the Express Swim Team.

Matt is currently an Assistant Coach with the Men’s Swim Team at Lyons Township High School, which most recently finished 3rd overall at the 2022 IHSA State Championships. Matt is extremely excited to share his knowledge of the sport and to teach his athletes the importance of hard work and perseverance.
Prior to joining the RISE staff, Matt was the Lead Coach at LYONS Aquatics for their high-performance 11&12 athletes and also led one of their Senior programs. Before that, Matt was both a Senior and Age Group Coach with the Express Swim Team.

Lee Kobilca
Head Strength Coach
Lee has continued to maintain a high level of fitness well into his forties. He has been able to achieve this while holding a high stress career as a broker/trader and being a family man. He has used fitness to overcome many obstacles in his life, such as stress, asthma, a major accident, sports injuries and a debilitating back(diagnosed as needing surgery).
He believes in building a sustainable healthy lifestyle, balance, legacy, efficiency and high performance. Lee is an avid mountain biker, skier, foodie, swimmer, yogi, weightlifter and extreme motor sports hobbyist. Lee is a graduate of Michigan State University, holds a National Academy of Sports Medicine personal trainer certification, USA Track & Field's Level 1 Coach and a Precision Nutrition certification. He has a life long learning mentality. He continually researches fitness, health and movement. |
Amanda Collins
Assistant Coach
Coach Amanda is on her 5th year of coaching at FMC Aquatics. She works primarily with the 8 & Under and 9/10 groups. Her coaching philosophy is to create a fun environment with a focus on technique and helping each swimmer to become the best person and teammate they can be. Amanda has coached all levels over the past 25 years, including infant, age group, adult, and country club teams.
Coach Amanda swam competitively from age 5 through college. She grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan, and has a deep love for all water sports and activities. She began swimming age group at St Joseph Aquatics, followed by a high school career swimming at St Joseph High School, where she was a 3 year all conference, and all state team member. She also was a two year high school state top five finalist, and school record holder. Her favorite events to swim were 100/200 back, 100/200 fly, & 400 IM.
After high school Amanda continued on to the University of Illinois. Amanda graduated with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master degree in Corporate Education and Training. Upon graduation, Amanda worked for UBS Global Asset Management as Associate Director of Human Resources.
Coach Amanda and her husband Mike have two children. Both her children, Quinn and Maeve, are current FMC swim team members and have swam for the team since they were six. Amanda and her family live in Western Springs where she also teaches preschool.

Landon Mitchell
Assistant Coach
Coach Landon started coaching at West Swim Club (now FMC Aquatic Swim Team) since 2018 and primarily worked with the 9-10s, Senior, and National age groups. During the Winter 2021 season he was focused on helping Coach Adam with the 11-12 year olds. He also assisted in dryland practices for the kids concentrating on core and calisthenics.
Landon started swimming out of the Hinswood Community Pool and HOSC swimming program. He continued swimming career while attending high school at Hinsdale South. Preparing for his senior year, Landon swam under Coach Adam. Landon was fortunate to continue his swimming career at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he primarily swam the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 of anything else. He holds the 50(20.95) and 100(46.03) free records at Whitewater (still!), as well as in many relays. His senior year he was awarded to be a Second-Team All-American for his team’s performance at D III Nationals. Landon’s 5th year he was a student assistant and helped create and coach the dryland program for Whitewater which led to many team records being taken down that next year. |
Morgan Mitchell
Assistant Coach
Coach Morgan is the Head Lessons & Operations Manager at Superior Training. She started her swimming career as a member of Westmont Swim Club at 8 years old. She swam under Adam Cremieux. As a coach, she has now come full circle by joining West Swim Club, now FMC Aquatic Swim Team, coaching staff in the winter of 2018. Morgan has assisted with 8 & under, 9 & 10s, and senior group. She is currently helping the 11-12 group with Coach Adam. She comes with 15+ years of experience.
Morgan grew up swimming club through her high school days at ICHS in Elmhurst. She then continued her swimming career at Monmouth College. Her favorite events included the 100/200 Fly, 400 IM, and the mile. Morgan then graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in English and Communication, and a minor in Human Services: Social Work. She continued her education by getting certificates in Phlebotomy/EKG and her Medical Assistant Degree. Before Morgan became our Head Lessons & Operations Manager, she worked full-time at Edward-Elmhurst Hospital in the Neuroscience Institute as well at the Edward-Elmhurst Clinic in Hinsdale. It seems as if Morgan is never far from a pool as she has been working at Edgewood Valley Country Club since 2006. Not only does she help run and manage the pool, but she was also the EVCC Sports Camp Coordinator for 10years. In the past, Morgan also volunteered her time and knowledge as a water polo coach and dryland coordinator at Hinsdale South High School. |
Kirsten Fredrickson
Assistant Coach
Coach Kirsten began coaching at WEST Swim Club in the fall of 2012 and FMC Aquatic until 2021. She is currently one of our Superior Stars coaches that works with our 8 & Unders.
She has enjoyed working with the 8 and under group and watching the swimmers improve and grow to love swimming. Some of her favorite moments coaching are watching the 8 and under cheering each other on at meets. Kirsten grew up swimming on WEST Swim Club with her younger brother and sister. She also swam for four years at Hinsdale Central and one year at Illinois Wesleyan University. Kirsten graduated from Illinois Wesleyan with a degree Elementary Education and Spanish. When she’s not coaching, Kirsten works at Northern Trust and enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family. |
Elizabeth Harris
Assistant Coach
Coach Elizabeth grew up swimming in New Mexico and upon her graduation from La Cueva High School, continued her swimming career at Lewis University. While at Lewis, Elizabeth competed Middle Distance Freestyle and Butterfly as a four year member of the Varsity team, while earning a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education.
Elizabeth works full-time as a Special Education teacher and uses her skills in communication and passion for children to bring fun and life to her practices. Elizabeth has played an integral role in developing Superior Training's youth lesson and team development programs. In addition to being a skilled youth and private lesson instructor, Elizabeth has coached for FMC Aquatic as an 8&Under and 9-10 group coach and progressed athletes to the Regional and State Level. |
Jason Holbrook
Assistant Coach
Coach Jason has been involved in competitive swimming and coaching for a significant portion of his life. He started his swimming career at the age of 7 and swam through high school.
Upon graduation from the University of Dayton, Jason joined WEST as a coach. Outside of coaching, he works full-time as a Financial Advisor for Edward Jones in LaGrange Park.
Jason enjoys triathlons and is presently training with the Well-Fit Elite Team in Chicago. He completed his first Ironman last summer and looks forward to training for more races this year.

Mary Cunningham
Assistant Coach
Coach Mary Cunningham is a lifelong swimmer. You can usually find her around 5:30 AM in the Superior Training Fitness pool that she has been a member of since it opened in 2015. Prior to that, Mary swam and taught swimming at Lifetime Fitness, but spent most of her time teaching Chemistry and Physics at Argo Community High School. Mary also coached both the Girls and Boys Swimming Teams for 25 years before she retired in 2014.
When Mary was given an opportunity to be a part of Rise and become a Founding Phoenix she jumped at the chance. Mary decided to come out of retirement, to work with the age group swimmers.
Mary has two sons. Coach Mike is with Rise Libertyville and Kelly is a computer programmer. Mary is proud to have 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 8 to 20 who she who she taught all to swim. They include one swim coach, one swimmer, two Lacrosse players and a baseball player. Swimming is part of Mary’s family and she is excited to be part of the family at Rise!

When Mary was given an opportunity to be a part of Rise and become a Founding Phoenix she jumped at the chance. Mary decided to come out of retirement, to work with the age group swimmers.
Mary has two sons. Coach Mike is with Rise Libertyville and Kelly is a computer programmer. Mary is proud to have 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 8 to 20 who she who she taught all to swim. They include one swim coach, one swimmer, two Lacrosse players and a baseball player. Swimming is part of Mary’s family and she is excited to be part of the family at Rise!

Kristen Silvey
Social Media / Marketing Director
Kristen joined the Superior Training staff in the fall of 2016. She grew up in Columbia, Missouri where she began swimming competitively for the Columbia Swim Club at age eight. Kristen continued swimming through high school where she was a State Qualifier, and into college at Lewis University, where she competed for four years. Kristen was a team captain her senior year. Kristen’s best events included 100/200 fly, 100/200 breast, and 200/400 IM.
While at Lewis University, Kristen earned a degree in Computer Graphic Design and Marketing and has found a way to combine her passions of both sport and design by filling the role of Media Specialist and Program Consultant for Superior Training. Since Kristen has come to Superior Training, she has taught both group and private lessons, coached for WEST Swim Club, and FMC Aquatic while working with abilities ranging from learn-to-swim to National caliber swimmers. Kristen grew up by the water and is happy to be able to be back around the pool to share her passion for the sport with swimming's next generations! |
